Celebrate Fourth of July with Kidpendence Day at Children's Museum Houston.

The stars and stripes will be in full effect as we celebrate our country’s 247th birthday at Children’s Museum Houston’s “Power Up! Summer.” Before rockets glare and fireworks are in the air, exercise your right to be a kid for as long as possible with some good ole American fun.  Don’t forget to wear your red, white, and blue to pay tribute to the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Special Events:
Elephant Toothpaste Patriotic Boom: Watch a collosal burst of patriotic red, white and blue.
Event Time: 12:30 p.m. in Concrete Jungle following National Anthem.

Captain America Interactive Story Time: Hang out with the Cap for some amazing tales.
Event Times: 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. in Brown Auditorium.

21-Mentos Geyser Salute:  Create an unforgettable 10-foot patriotic burst as a salute to our troops.
Event Time: 2:30 to 4 p.m. in Concrete Jungle.

Ongoing Activities: 

  • Patriotic Glasses: Create a personal pair of patriotic glasses in Junktion.
  • Blast Off: Explore propulsion with a chemical reaction and build straw rockets in Science Station.
  • Rubber Band Rocket: Build a ‘rocket’ which launches up into the air in Chevron Maker Annex.
  • Balloon Rockets: Design a “rocket” which propels on a line in Chevron Maker Annex.
  • Rocket Lander: Slow down a “rocket” with an impact sensor in Chevron Maker Annex.
