More than 150 Bellaire residents and friends gathered in Paseo Park for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the city’s first-ever Ramadan display. Mayor Pro Tem Win Frazier (pictured with residents) cut the ribbon to unveil the crescent moon display and officially kick off the holy month of Ramadan. The event was sponsored by the Muslim Community Association and the Bellaire High School Muslim Student Association (MSA), and featured special guests and speakers Rabab Sabbahi, representative of the Muslim Community Association, Mayor Frazier, Dalia Moghazy, event organizer, and Yousef Salem, president of the Muslim Students Association at Bellaire High School. The crescent remained in Paseo Park for the entire month of Ramadan to celebrate the holiday.
