A baptism tradition

Twins Bridger and Alice Eagleton (pictured, from left) were baptized at the Church of the Annunziata in St. Louis, MO. Parents Lindsay and Chris Eagleton are originally from St. Louis and returned to their hometown with the twins and their three older children, Eloise, 10, Peter, 7, and Beatrice, 4. The Eagletons gathered with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins for the private baptism ceremony. Alice wore the baptism gown that each of her older siblings wore, which was originally purchased by Lindsay’s aunt Victoria Anthon for her grandchildren. Aunt Victoria offered the gown to Lindsay when Eloise was born. Because this baptism was for two babies, and there was only one gown, Lindsay chose something new for Bridger that can be worn by future baby boys in the family. It is a tradition for Aunt Victoria to hand embroider the name of each baby on the gown, and now she will begin the same tradition with Bridger’s outfit.
