Rice University hosted a two-day softball camp for West University Softball Association through its baseball program, held at Reckling Park. WUSA players were given the opportunity to practice with the Rice coaching staff and to play on the Rice baseball fields. WUSA wrapped up its registration for the spring 2023 season with a record 950 enrolled girls who will play on 94 teams. Players and families are looking forward to a fun season that kicked off with the annual opening day parade and carnival in February. Julia Morales, local sports anchor and reporter, served as the Grand Marshal for the parade. The season will culminate with an end-of-season tournament in the first week of May. During the season, WUSA will host its annual father/daughter movie night and adult social and auction.
