As part of a long-standing tradition, Saint Thomas’ Episcopal School’s pipe bands performed at Dickens on the Strand. The annual Christmas festival, on the Strand in Galveston, brings everyone back to the 19th century with street performances, food stalls, shops selling 19th century-style items, and Victorian-era costumes. STE’s bands marched in The Queen’s Parade and Pickwick’s Lantern-light Parade in addition to two stage shows and a special performance for the Tremont House. Some members of the A band were given the opportunity to go busking – they played in small groups on the street for the opportunity to earn money from spectators.
