Make the catch

Western Academy fifth-grader Drew Friedl (pictured) keeps his eye on the ball for a catch with the Post Oak Little League (POLL) Astros team. Drew plays both catcher and pitcher for the majors-division team, and this is his fifth year with POLL. The league planned to start in mid-February, but the snow and ice storm had other plans. After a brief delay, POLL teams are back on the field and hoping for a great season. When Drew isn’t playing for the Astros, he plays with the Cutters tournament team. He says baseball is his favorite sport, and he is committed to doing what it takes to continue playing and make the high school team one day.
