James Palke, an Eagle Scout candidate from Bellaire Troop 222, completed his Eagle Scout project at Avondale House. James designed, obtained materials, and recruited a team of 12 volunteers. He and other Scout volunteers built a raised garden bed and filled it with soil and gravel. Participants in school and adult programs will plant, grow and care for vegetables. James, a senior at Challenge Early College High School, said he chose an organization that supports people with autism because his family is impacted by autism.
