When the Vo family heard about the shortage of masks for medical workers, they decided to make cloth masks to help community members who work for an essential business. They upcycled woven polo shirts and made almost 30 masks together. Mom Kat cut up polo shirts and bed sheets, dad Jackson cut up and tied elastics, Elise used her sewing skills to sew the masks, and Aliza helped steam the final product. Pictured are sisters (on left) Aliza, a second grader at Saint Catherine’s Montessori, and (on right) Elise, a sixth grader at Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart, holding up their masks. The Vo family donated masks to Casa de Amigos, MD Anderson staff and other essential workers.
