St. Agnes Soccer Team Heads to State Championship

The St. Agnes Academy varsity soccer team has had a truly wonderful season. Our soccer team is going to state! The team won their most recent soccer game at Antonian College Preparatory High School 1-0 this past Wednesday. The final, state championship game takes place at Waco ISD Stadium at 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21 versus Nolan High School. The game we won on Wednesday was a State Semi-Final, so we are almost State Champions!

Our SAA students are elated about this. One student, Kaeden Reese said, “It’s really exciting to see our varsity soccer team go to state.” Kaeden has seen the energy in the SAA halls, saying “Everyone’s rooting for them to win and become State Champions!” The entire SAA community is just waiting to hear about the victory and State Championship our Tigers will surely take in the next few days.

We’re all wishing our amazing soccer team good luck, and we can’t wait to wish them congratulations in the hall soon! The players on the 2019-2020 SAA varsity soccer team are Isabella Conlu, Lauren Cooke, Meyer Davis, Frankie Finger, Kristin Geczik, Leah Klenke, Mary Claire Laudadio, Alex Nabors, Maddie Nguyen, Grace Noe, Jaide Prejean, Sara Price, Camila Rocha, Kenna Sanders, Anna Smaistrla, Carolina Snyder-Perez, Elizabeth Swarts, Janea Thibodeaux and Erin York.
