The nonprofit iWRITE Literacy Organization honored 100 student authors and illustrators at the 10th Anniversary iWRITE Luncheon and Book Signing. The event focused on stories on international culture and honored seven women who exemplify global leadership and represent the seven continents of the world. Honorees included Alex Blair, Dr. Seun Adigun, Lisa Helfman, Donatella Benckenstein, Dr. Sippi Khurana, Dr. Meenakshi Wadhwa and Dr. Louise Owen. More than 400 guests attended, and the organization raised more than $100,000 to support writing programs. Workshops and summer camps will be held at the Houston Public Library and other locations in 2020. Guests had the opportunity to meet authors and illustrators, including River Oaks Elementary School student Max Macomber and West University Elementary School students Sophia Yu, Yutia Li and Prisha Shivani.
