Isaac Herbst, a junior at Memorial High School, competed in epee in the Youth Olympic Games. Isaac trains at Alliance Fencing Academy. Only the top two fencers (one male and one female) in each weapon (epee, foil, sabre) were chosen to represent North and South America in the Youth Olympics, this year in Buenos Aires. The 12 best fencers from the world are selected. The Americas 1 Fencing Team of (pictured, from left) Emily Vermeule, Isaac, May Tieu, Kenji Bravo, Natalie Botello and Robert Vidovszky won the bronze medal in the Continental Mixed-Team event.
