Over 550 guests attended The Hope and Healing Center & Institute’s 7th Annual Chrysalis Award Luncheon at Royal Sonesta Houston Galleria. The luncheon was chaired by Katherine and Paul Murphy and featured keynote speaker Ron Powers, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and New York Times best-selling author of No One Cares About Crazy People. He chronicled his journey of having two sons who were diagnosed with schizophrenia, their personal struggles with mental illness, and the tragic loss of their son to the disease. The 2018 Chrysalis Award was presented to Houston Methodist Hospital, and Dr. Marc L. Boom accepted the award in recognition of the hospital’s commitment to mental health. The Hope and Healing Center & Institute offers free mental-health services.
