September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, and there are some shopping opportunities involved. Tootsies in West Ave and fashion blogger Megan Silianoff are hosting a kickoff party on Sept. 16 to celebrate the launch of the “Susan Scarf,” designed by Manoosh in collaboration with the Susan Poorman Blackie Ovarian Cancer Foundation. Kathy Bracewell (pictured) of Agate Ranch + Marfa jewelry company and Anna Wilson of Manoosh will be there too. The scarf is teal, which is the national ovarian cancer color, and it features a painting by Houston-based abstract artist Marilyn Biles. The painting was created in honor of Blackie, who passed away last year.
